Spelling mistakes were embarrassing. Constantly being shot is annoying. Using up health when I was fully healed was annoying. Nothing in the game tries to make any sense. You get burnt by the core when you're 10-20 pixels away from it. I quit when robo worm was touching the core and not burning, and I was not touching the core and burning.

Kinda good mechanics.

very well done

I think there are NOT a lot of things done wrong in this game. The concept is smart and it's well executed, but I'm just going to post things I think bring down the game to be constructive:

Choppy feel I assume due to low framerate. It's not a huge downside I guess but I noticed it immediately, and smoothness definitely adds a lot to flash games.

The menu. I tried to pause using the p key, which is more commonly used than esc. If you wrote it in the in game instructions I glossed over it, like a large percentage of your audience will. Even fewer people will read the author comments on games. Also, having a mouse activated menu with an entirely keyboard driven game is a put off, even if a small one.

Which kind of segways into the level set up. I think it's OK. A lot of games use a system of letting you choose levels in case you get stuck, or letting you skip a certain amount of levels while still progressing. So just something to think about for future puzzle level games.

The intros. They are too long. Realistically some people probably quit before the intros were done. 10 seconds, or 15 seconds seems like no big deal, but it can be to players.

Last thing is for the simon says levels, the flickering of the white fade is really annoying. It makes sense for the other powers, but not this one.

woot

Muuullet punch, that clip alone made it worth the play. Adding the skip for the dialog was a good idea, it was pretty good dialog though, if you sped it up a bit I think it would be a lot easier to listen through. Overall really entertaining. And I loled.

Thanks a lot. Awesome - I'm glad ya loled and I've succeeded in creating something entertaining. :3

awesome

I wasn't planning on reviewing, but I found a glitch, on the push-ups screen, I went over to the right side and jumped and kicked an enemy and it started pushing me to the right beyond the normal bounds. I went far enough that I lost control of hank. Thought this would get through better than a pm.

The game is incredible, amazing, inspiring etc.

Thanks! I really gotta have a long look at some of my boundary stuff... I think there is some little thing somewhere that's break the rules, because I've seen that sort of thing too. This game is such a Frankenstein's monster of cobbled parts of a bunch of unfinished projects, I really need to clean house.

well...ok

Why do you still have the buttons on the stage?? Use a pause screen or prompt the user when the level is complete to go to the next level with a window. Moving them randomly around the stage to infrequently clicked areas doesn't solve the problem, it just creates a new problem, of having to find the buttons every single time so you can go to the next level. You could even create tiny little sound buttons and a menu button that take up a third of the space.

The level design is honestly not that bad, sometimes it involves more randomness than I think is ok for a puzzle game, but only occasionally, so that's fine. But why don't you use a shared object to save the players progress?? and also have a level selection screen to go with it?? It's really easy and would improve the game 250%. Even as I bash it there is obviously something inherently fun about the mechanic, but I'm not interested in remembering level codes, or what level I got to, or any of that, so even though I would play it more, I'm not going to...

very good

I like this game a lot. I think you made this exactly what it should be. The response it's getting isn't surprising, but is still sad.

One thing that would be nice is volume control, a slider or a mute. The sounds are much louder than any music I try to play.

review

Honestly better than most flash games I've played. I'm not sure you did the hit detection extremely well, but it seemed ok most of the time. Disregarding the basic premise of the game, and the obvious over simplicity, I have a few observations or suggestions that I think would make the game better as it is right now...

First of all, you can't move from the top of the screen to the bottom, but you can from the bottom to the top, and left to right and right to left, that seems very strange and counter-intuitive, not sure if that was just an overlook or...what...

Second, use a variable to make the mute toggle, instead of constantly change from muted to unmuted while you hold down the m key. That makes it easier to actually mute the music if you want to.

Third, a key to restart, like hitting 'r' would be nice, so you don't have to play out the game if you already messed up badly.

Fourth, mochi scores are very easy to add into your game if you take the time to look into how to do it, and they add a lot of replay value to even the simplest games.

Anyway I hope you find any of this helpful, keep at it.

Thanks!

Great

You met my expectations for what a good baby fulp game would be. I had to read the reviews to beat it though, because deliver baby gently doesn't work when pull gently does. If pull and deliver baby work the same, so should adding gently to either. I think I also tried pull softly to no avail. Anyhow, overlooking that, the medals were funny, and the game was overall very enjoyable.

Pretty nice game. The original concept was good, and the additions you made were nice. I hit a glitch, not sure what level, but I was at 35,000 points, and then the pong ball stopped being bounded by the top of the screen. I think I missed it, then three or four times in a row it spawned, hit the enemy paddle, went off the top of the screen, and took away a life. I think it started working again but I died right after that.

I skimmed the reviews and I see you've uploaded a fix to gamejacket... I guess it's still pending, but I'll leave this up in case it's already been updated and is still broken...

AWESOME

seriously.
